Winter and Light
Reflection : I wanted to try out a 21 mm lens and also to do a series with light, and this foggy winter day was a perfect opportunity. I walked around the rural area and found many subjects, and the light was interesting. I particularly enjoyed working without hard shadows. The light from cloud cover and fog was easy to work with in terms of exposure as there was plenty for shooting in the outdoors but not so much that overexposure was a concern. There are a dozen details I would do differently, particularly with regard to framing a scene. Several potential candidate photos has the horizon too high, at the middle of the photo or slightly higher. Others I had cut off a part that would have been better if included, such as the steeple on the church. Another photo I have is better in some regards than the one in this series, but it was missing its spire.
The 21 mm lens gave a depth to the photos that I had hoped for. I really love this lens now ! I can see that I am improving with range finder focus. It is motivating find so many interesting forms, colors and lighting on a dreary day.
In LRC, I worked with manual adjustments and Winter presets, which were fun and informative.
